With meviy, you can order your specific sheet metal parts quickly and easily online by uploading your 3D CAD file. Discover the advantages of surface treatments and where they are preferably applied. Finish your sheet metal parts with meviy.

Finishing options for sheet metal parts

Surface treatment plays a crucial role in various industries as it is an essential step in improving the performance, durability and aesthetics of materials. From finishes such as anodizing of metals to coatings such as powder coating, our manufacturing services offer a variety of processes designed to specifically modify the properties of surfaces. (Coating of plastics is not possible)

In this context, we present a detailed overview of all available surface treatments from meviy. Our diverse techniques and processes make it possible not only to make materials more aesthetically pleasing, but also to improve their functionality and durability. Discover the various surface treatment options and find the optimum solution for your individual requirements and applications.

Powder Coating

Provides a robust and durable surface that is resistant to corrosion and chemicals. Wide range of colours and possibility to achieve different surface effects. Commonly used in the automotive industry, furniture industry, architecture and metal processing.

Electroless Nickel Plating

Provides excellent corrosion protection and an even coating. Can be used as a primer for further surface treatments. Often used in the electronics, automotive and engineering industries to protect and finish metal parts.

Black Oxide

Forms a thin, corrosion-resistant layer on metal parts and provides a certain degree of wear protection. Improves aesthetics and can create different colour tones. Commonly used in the automotive, engineering and precision mechanics industries to protect metal surfaces from corrosion.

Chromated (clear)

Improves the corrosion resistance of aluminium surfaces without impairing electrical conductivity. Can be used as a primer for paints and varnishes. Commonly used in the aerospace, electronics and automotive industries, especially for aluminium parts and components.

Chromated (black)

Offers similar benefits to clear chromated, but with a dark, decorative finish. Provides an attractive appearance and improved corrosion resistance. Typically used in the electronics, defence and automotive industries where both functionality and aesthetics are important.

Electrolytic Galvanised

Provides effective corrosion protection for iron and steel parts. Forms an even zinc coating that protects the base metal from oxidation. Frequently used in the construction industry, automotive industry and electrical engineering to protect steel and iron components from corrosion.

Galvanised

Offers similar benefits to electrolytic galvanizing, but with a slightly different production method. Also provides effective corrosion protection for iron and steel parts. Widely used in the construction industry, automotive industry and mechanical engineering for corrosion prevention.

Hairline Finish

Gives the surface a decorative look with a subtle texture. Can hide scratches and fingerprints and provides extra grip. Commonly used in the automotive industry, household appliance industry and architecture for aesthetic purposes.

Anodised (clear)

Provides a thin, corrosion-resistant layer on aluminium surfaces and improves abrasion resistance. Creates a smooth, decorative surface with increased durability. Commonly used in architecture, electronics and engineering where a protective and aesthetically pleasing surface treatment is required.

Anodised (black)

Similar to clear anodized, but with a dark, decorative surface. Provides improved corrosion protection and abrasion resistance. Used in the aerospace, electronics and automotive industries to protect aluminium components and make them aesthetically pleasing.

Black Anodised (matt)

Provides a matt black finish with excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance. Gives the material a modern and elegant appearance. Often used in the electronics, furniture and design industries to provide aluminium surfaces with a matte black finish.

Hairline Finish

Hairline finish is a special surface finishing technique used in various industries such as metalworking, architecture and the manufacture of consumer goods. This technique creates fine and even lines on the surface of the material, resulting in an elegant and attractive finish.

For example, EN 1.4301 equiv. has a visible, hairline finish on the surface, as shown in the figure above. The polishing direction of the hairline finish is called “one-sided fine line structure”, and in meviy service, the machining direction of the drawing created by expanding the 3D model shape is used as the machining direction. If you want to use a different processing direction, please contact meviy support for a quote.
